The mission of No More Fear Foundation is to provide a lifeline of resettlement support services to members of the LGBTQ community who seek asylum in the United States from violence and persecution in their home countries. This mission arises out of the knowledge that our country has a tradition of drawing strength through the diversity of its citizens.
We acknowledge that recent events have brought this core principle under attack, giving expressions to a wave of racism, xenophobia and homophobia. We are witnessing an abhorrent emboldening of hateful speech and actions. This is not what the United States was built on. To all our brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ community, know that No More Fear Foundation stands with you. We do not turn our backs in the face of adversity. We do not hang our heads and take the quiet path.
In times such as these, we resolve to demonstrate the true strength of our community and join together, determined and resolute, we show those who spew hatred and ignorance that there is no place in this nation for their words or actions. This nation was built on diversity. It was built on acceptance.
We anticipate that in the coming years there will be change and some of it will likely not be for the better. The reality we likely face is a change in immigration regulations. But, be assured that the No More Fear Foundation will stand stronger than ever to support those in needs in our community, and we will fight against intolerance of LGBTQ immigrants. Through the incredible and generous network that keeps the NMF Foundation going, we will rise past any obstacles, and we will be all the stronger for it.
